When I went to Maui two years ago during the spring I was on a dinner cruise with some Americans. We began talking and they eventually asked where I was from. I said "Canada" because no one seemed to know Alberta so I thought I would cast a wide net. This was mid April at the time and some of them asked "So you must still have snow on the ground?" I couldn't believe it! Shocked that they would even suggest this I quickly corrected them stating we pretty much have the weather of Montana since it was only a few hundred miles from where I lived.
Now fast forward to now. And it is still friggin' winter. I hate the cold and just wanted it to be Spring so we could get to Summer.
The only good thing about the cold is it produces some pretty cool atmospheric events. I love shooting in the fog and will even put on a brave face to go out and do it.
I went with my pal, "Burger" Curt, and I got one alright photo out of the evening.
Shot with the Canon 5D Mark III & Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II lens. It is made from 3 shifted images. 1/80th | f10 | iso 100.
In other news I picked up a Fuji X-Pro1 on the weekend.. the reason being I bought it with the 18mm, 35mm & 60mm with a Lee Filters RF-75 kit for an amazing once-in-a-life-time price. It will be coming with me to NYC in May and we will see if it will cause me to downsize my Canon kit. More on that in the future.
And more X100s stuff too. Follow me on twitter by clicking the button on the right and throw your comments below.
